ChatGPT has written hundreds of books sold on Amazon

The chatbot created by OpenAI is appearing as an author or co-author on several works in the Kindle Store´

ChatGPT has been listed as the author or co-author of at least 200 books sold on Amazon's ebook store. The real number, however, is much higher, as current company policies do not require authors to disclose that they are using AI to write.

The news reinforces concerns that AI-generated writing could flood the literary market, taking over key creative roles amid a debate over the ethics and dubious accuracy of similar tools.

The 30-page digital copy of “The Wise Little Squirrel: A Tale of Saving and Investing” retails for $2.99 ​​and the physical for $9.99. Released in January, Brett reveals that the book was created “in a few ours” with the help of ChatGPT.

Another example affected a science fiction publication (“Clarkesworld Magazine”). The American magazine was forced to stop sending paid stories after receiving a flood of articles suspected of using AI, highlighted PCMag. This month alone, more than 500 users were banned.

Editor Neil Clarke said the stories, allegedly written by bots, had exploded and use "very obvious patterns": "To make matters worse, technology is only going to get better, so detection will become more challenging."
